Secure Cloud Modernisation Roadmap
A risk-led roadmap helping a professional-services business modernise ageing systems while strengthening security and operational resilience.

Overview
A practical model for the work.
Confidentiality notice: the client label and selected details have been anonymised and adapted. This representative case study demonstrates the type and standard of engagement Eastgate can deliver; it does not identify a traceable client or make independently verifiable client claims.
Company B needed to modernise without disrupting client delivery. The engagement created a common fact base for technology, security and business leaders before any platform or migration decision was made.
Establishing the current state
Eastgate combined application discovery, dependency mapping, stakeholder interviews and security review into a single landscape assessment. Systems were evaluated against business criticality, technical health, data sensitivity and change complexity.
Sequencing the transformation
The roadmap started with foundational identity, monitoring and governance work, followed by lower-risk migration candidates. High-dependency applications were placed in later waves with explicit readiness criteria, decision gates and accountable owners.
The challenge
What needs to change.
The client had accumulated ageing line-of-business applications, disconnected cloud tools and inconsistent security controls. Previous modernisation proposals lacked a shared view of risk, dependencies and delivery capacity.
The approach
How Eastgate would structure the work.
Eastgate assessed the application and infrastructure landscape, grouped systems by business criticality and technical risk, and shaped secure migration waves around realistic team capacity.
Proposed outputs
What the engagement is designed to create.
- An agreed retain, improve, replace or retire decision for each system group
- A dependency-aware migration sequence with security embedded in every wave
- Governance standards for future platform, data and vendor decisions
